On January 1, 2007 the method for calculating Child Support in Georgia moved from a simple percentage of the non-custodial parent’s income to a dual income model, taking into account the income of both parents. Effective January 1, 2008 Georgia requires that a comprehensive Parenting Plan be prepared for all new cases establishing or changing child custody and/or visitation.
