Mr. Owen began his career as a criminal defense attorney in 1991 as Student Intern with the University of Georgia’s Legal Aid and Defender Clinic. Since that time he has served as a Public Defender for misdemeanor, felony and juvenile cases; an Assistant Solicitor General prosecuting misdemeanor, family violence, DUI and traffic cases; and as private defense counsel for all types of criminal and traffic matters in Federal, State, Administrative and Juvenile Courts.
Mr. Owen is an experienced trial attorney who has handled hundreds of trials and hearings in jurisdictions throughout the state of Georgia. As a Public Defender in the Tift Judicial Circuit he represented persons accused of felony drug offenses, violent felonies, theft offenses, as well as DUI, suspended license and other charges. He prosecuted individuals for DUI, family violence, shoplifting, and other misdemeanor offenses as an Assistant Solicitor General in the State Court of Richmond County from 1995-2000. In addition he has tried numerous civil and domestic cases. He uses his experience to aggressively defend individuals against DUI, and traffic charges as well as all other types of misdemeanor and felony offenses.
